Research

Though my undergraduate and Masters degrees are both in English literature, I have been an active musician for most of my life and in recent years have become interested in issues pertaining to popular music and Middle Eastern youth culture.  I am particularly interested in Lebanese underground music and the radical potential of music/noise to disrupt and reconfigure a traditionally sectarian political land/soundscape.

I believe in the power of the keytar.
